Srinagar, Dec 25 (KNO): A day after National Conference castigated his party MP Aga Ruhullah over leading a protest on reservation policy row, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief Tariq Hameed Kara termed it as National Conference’s “internal matter”.
“We don’t want to comment on the internal matter of the National Conference, similarly. We also expect no one to comment on our internal matters,” Kara told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Stating that census be made basis for any kind of reservation, Kara said, “Rahul Gandhi has been pushing for a caste census in the country. He has made it clear that reservation should be given on the basis of the population.”
On Monday, Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Aga Ruhullah led a youth protest outside chief minister Omar Abdullah’s official residence in the Gupkar area of Srinagar over reservation policy row. The protest was also joined by several opposition leaders and legislators. National Conference leader and MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar expressed strong dismay over the protest led by his own party MP, stating that the protest was a platform that opportunity to its adversaries to exploit the situation.
The protest led by Aga Ruhullah is being seen, by many, as growing internal rift between National Conference leaders—(KNO)
